It’s now or never

Just last week Emily was telling me how well the kids were, having been fed a good diet for nearly two months. Not one of them has been sick, not even those who are HIV positive and so prone to illness. But this morning, as we talked on Skype, I was put on the spot and just could not come up with an answer. School is re-starting on Monday and Emily still has to purchase some text books and stationery; only the bare minimum, mind. But then she said to me, “if I do that, then we won’t have anything to buy food when we run out on 10th”. I felt a pang in my stomach knowing that the small budget allocated to education last month would only cover another week or so anyway. So what advice can I give her? What crystal ball do I look into? Who do I turn to? While we are working towards bringing in long term solutions, we keep being reminded that there can’t be a future without a now. Could you be part of the now so that we can work on the future? Can you help now so that the children don’t got back on just one meal a day and face becoming poorly again. Can you find it in your heart to commit on supporting the children now, so that they can help themselves later. We need you, please donate. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.    Annie, ”Friends of Ket Wangi Orphanage”
